Not too long ago it was just a landfill. Now it's a collection of some of the best waste management facilities in the world - bar none.  There is North America's largest co-composting facility, a state-of-the art recycling facility, an e-waste recycling plant, research facilities, and comming soon, the worlds first municipal waste-to-biofules facility.

The world-renowned Edmonton Waste Management Centre is a leading industrial tourism destination, routinely attracting visitors from all over the world.  More than 15,000 students, teachers and others tour the site every year.  Come take a look for yourself!

"All Edmontonians can be extremely proud of these facilities, and Edmonton's standing as a green leader," states Mayor Stephen Mandel.  "It's really our citizens' dedication to recycling and waste diversion that has led to our success.  I encourage everyone to come out and see for themselves just how far we've come in making Edmonton a sustainable city."
